LOEBSACK RETURNS TO WASHINGTON TO EXPLORE IDEAS FOR JOB CREATION AND ECONOMIC RECOVERY House Education and Labor Committee to Hold Hearing on Strategies To Help Families, Small Business, and Repair our Nation’s Economy Washington, DC – Tomorrow, Congressman Dave Loebsack will participate in a House Education and Labor Committee hearing to examine strategies – including investments in rebuilding crumbling infrastructure – to create good-paying jobs here in Iowa in order to put the stalled economy on the road to recovery. Congressman Loebsack has repeatedly asserted his desire for Congress to quickly develop and pass a responsible economic recovery package. During the hearing, both Congressman Loebsack and panelists will discuss investment in green school construction including the 21st Century Green High-Performing Public School Facilities Act, H.R. 3021, which Congressman Loebsack helped to author with Congressman Ben Chandler (KY-06) and Congressman Dale Kildee (MI-05). Investments in infrastructure, like school construction, are proven to create new jobs and spur local economic growth in all areas of the economy.
