The Cedar Rapids RIO office will be located in the Community Recovery Center, 220 Sixth St. NW in Cedar Rapids. The building currently houses Linn Area Recovery Coalition case workers who already assist Iowans impacted by the floods and storms of 2008. "We think this is the perfect opportunity to share space and partner with a group of individuals that are already working on disaster recovery efforts," said Tina Potthoff, Communications Director for the Rebuild Iowa Office. "We look forward to having our Rebuild Iowa Office Cedar Rapids liaison just a few steps away from disaster recovery case advocates." The ceremony will begin with a walk-through of the location by Governor Chet Culver at 2 p.m. on Thursday. The walk-through will be followed by brief remarks from Governor Culver and Rebuild Iowa Office staff members. The event will wrap up with an official ribbon cutting at the front door of the Community Recovery Center. The satellite location will also allow RIO staff members from across the state a place to meet and hold meetings in the Cedar Rapids area.
