As a Member of Congress, Congressman Loebsack’s first priority is to make sure that the voices of Iowans are heard. During the August recess, the Congressman will begin his month-long series of town halls, events, and tours, talking with Iowans around the district on issues that matter to everyday Iowans.

Next week the Congressman will visit pharmacies across the district to discuss important aspects of health care – access and costs. Medication Therapy Management or MTM is a system of pharmacist-provided services that helps ensure that drugs are used appropriately to improve health and to reduce adverse events. MTM builds on the pharmacist’s role as the medication expert and aids Iowans who have trouble accessing care. MTM includes consultations with patients, development of a personal medication record and action plan, working with other health-care providers to resolve any medication problems, and documentation of progress and follow-up. For many Iowans, MTM offers access to additional care and the personal attention they deserve.
