A Question for Representative Tom Latham: What Is Your Plan for Health Insurance Reform?

Americans will hear a lot of Republican knee-jerk criticism tonight of President Obama’s address on health insurance reform. We’ve heard plenty of Republicans’ partisan, inflammatory, and misleading attacks, but we haven’t heard a lot of solutions. A simple question for Representative Tom Latham: what is your solution to the urgent need for health insurance reform?

“As a Member of Congress who doesn’t have to worry about the taxpayer-paid health insurance for themselves or their family, it’s easy for Republicans to say ‘no’ to health insurance reform,” said Jennifer Crider, spokesperson for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “Representative Tom Latham, the question is simple: what is your solution to the need for health insurance reform? Criticism comes naturally to Representative Latham, but constituents deserve more than Latham’s lip service on health insurance reform.”

“Representative Latham shouldn’t put big insurance companies’ interests before the needs of hardworking Americans struggling to pay for health insurance for their families.”
