RE: The Nussle Advantage: Nussle Winning on Ideas, Positive Vision

This past week, Iowans watching a series of candidate debates and forums saw the clear choice in the race for Governor. Jim Nussle's command of the issues, innovative ideas and positive vision stood out in stark contrast to Chet Culver's out-of-touch values, inexperience and negative attacks. In particular, the Brown & Black debate made clear Jim Nussle is the only candidate who is ready to lead and able to successfully chart a new course for Iowa. If you missed the debate the first time, you can see for yourself Jim's take on tackling the tough issues facing our state at http://www.JimNussle.com.

Iowans will have another opportunity to see this clear choice in tonight's KWQC/Quad City Times sponsored debate. There are a few race dynamics to pay attention to heading into tonight's debate:

• A Close Race Until Election Day. As we've been saying from the beginning, the race for Governor is going to continue to be tight from now until Election Day. Every recent poll from Rasmussen to The Wall Street Journal/John Zogby is showing Jim Nussle and Chet Culver in a dead heat. It is important to keep in mind The Des Moines Register poll is only a snapshot in a close race for Governor and not a reliable snapshot at that. This is the same Iowa Poll that showed Jim Ross Lightfoot as Governor of Iowa, Howard Dean as the 2004 Democratic Presidential nominee and John Kerry as the next President of the United States. While polls will go up and down, Iowans will continue to see the clear choice for Governor in the experienced, principled leadership of Jim Nussle to Energize Iowa's Future.

• An Experienced Candidate Ready to Lead. This November Iowans are facing a choice for Governor that is critical to Iowa's future. Jim Nussle is a proven leader with a record of getting results as a former prosecutor, first responder and 16 year public servant. When it comes to the challenging issues Iowa's next Governor will be faced with, it's going to take proven leadership. Iowa's future depends on it.

• Culver Offers Attack Plan. Time and time again, an out-of-touch Chet Culver is forced to resort to negative, misleading attacks to mask an agenda that includes seizing Iowans' home and land, raising taxes, giving felons the right to vote and repealing English as the official language. Iowans deserve more from their next Governor than a candidate who hides behind false attacks instead of engaging on ideas and issues.

• A Clear Choice. Tonight, Iowans will once again hear from the only candidate for Governor who tackles the tough issues head-on, answers the questions Iowans want to know and offers a real plan instead of just saying, "I have a plan." Iowans won't have to think twice about casting their vote for the Nussle-Vander Plaats Team and the clear choice this November between a divisive, partisan candidate like Chet Culver with nothing more to offer voters than negative attacks and a principled, bold leader like Jim Nussle with the positive, innovative vision to Energize Iowa's Future.

We hope you tune into tonight's debate on KWQC in Davenport, live on http://www.WhoTV.com or WHO Radio, 1040 AM.
