IowaPolitics.com: Edwards Cancels Indianola House Party 3/20/2007 By IowaPolitics.com Staff Former U.S. Sen. John Edwards cancelled a planned appearance at an Indianola house party Tuesday night in order to return to North Carolina to attend a Wednesday morning doctor's appointment with his wife Elizabeth. In a nod to the tradition of the Iowa caucuses, the Edwards camp said the 2004 vice presidential nominee plans to hold other house parties in the months ahead. John Edwards had visited Nevada earlier in the day to discuss the importance of halting global warming and creating a plan to achieve a new energy economy. "Our generation must be the one that says, 'we must halt global warming warming,'" he said. "If we don't act now, it will be too late. Our generation must be the one that says, 'yes' to alternative, renewable fuels and ends forever our dependence on foreign oil. Our generation must be the one that accepts responsibility for conserving natural resources and demands the tools to do it." |
